Burger Station offers a cinematic, retro experience—a beautiful glass diner that initially promises a lot. The interior holds up with a charming train station diner style, which certainly appealed to the railfan in me. However, the food quality proved inconsistent and, unfortunately disappointing.

The Union Station Burger (4/10)

My signature Union Station Burger was the main letdown of the meal.

The patty was remarkably dry and noticeably unseasoned. Both the patty and the burger bun desperately needed a better toasting and overall flavor contrast.

Regarding the toppings, while generally okay, the quality control slipped with the inclusion of a tomato slice that still had a poorly cut, intact core. This small but telling detail suggested an oversight in kitchen attention.

Fortunately, the fries were excellent and were the saving grace of my meal.Fortunately, the fries were excellent and were the saving grace of my meal.

Better Sandwich (8/10)

In contrast, my friend was happy with his Grilled Chicken Sandwich, which featured well-seasoned and soft chicken. This suggests some inconsistency in the kitchen.

We did, however, appreciate the wide variety of condiments available, such as mayonnaise, hot sauce, and vinegar.

Service was friendly and homey. The dining room was clean, but the facilities definitely needed attention.

Burger Station nails the atmosphere and friendly service, but the food quality is inconsistent. While the setting is a great spot for nostalgia, the lackluster, under-seasoned signature burger was a significant disappointment. Looking at other reviews across the board, however, I see a majority of diners are happy and satisfied with their burgers. Perhaps it was an off day, or I simply got a bad burger, which is exactly why I should give it another chance, perhaps on a weekend.
